Two days before Christmas in 1934, they stepped into a country church in south-central Nebraska and vowed to love each other and stay together the rest of their lives.
For Arne and Esther Larsen, it has been a promise kept.
The Larsens celebrated their 80th wedding anniversary in December, placing them among an elite group. Neither Nebraska nor Iowa keeps records on the topic, but the Larsens are certainly one of the longest if not the longest married couple still living in Nebraska.
Its a big milestone.
