AFL-CIO Debuts ‘Meet Mr. 1%’ Video, Calls For Engagement In Election

AFL-CIO Debuts ‘Meet Mr. 1%’ Video, Calls For Engagement In Election

The AFL-CIO has a new video up attacking Mitt Romney Monday, coinciding with President Obama’s remarks to the union’s Building and Construction Trades Department this morning. The video, called “Meet Mr. 1%” is a 7-minute introduction to Romney. The video touches on Romney’s positions vis-a-vis labor, including his time in private equity at Bain Capital and remarks he’s made about taking on unions.

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka asks people at the end of the video to commit to the “labor 2012 campaign,” by knocking on doors and talking to friends to help re-elect Obama and build a movement beyond November.

The AFL-CIO endorsed the president’s reelection campaign in March.
