(25,029 posts)military interventionism, pushing the stupid and failed drug war, insourcing, looting the commons, reining in Wall St, disdain for workers, and it goes on and on both parties are dangerously off track sometimes in distinct ways and sometimes frighteningly similar fashions.
Same is though not the only relevant and important measure. Things can be quite distinct and still both be unacceptable.
A 50% is a 100% different than 25% and both are failing grades.
Hepatitis C and HIV aren't the same both can be deadly and neither are good.

(25,029 posts)down to a cynical hostage taking by my own party that is a rolling surrender to protect that hostage.
The notion is beyond ridiculous, the hostage is dead as fried chicken anyway they won't survive all the rest of the damage inflicted.
Holding on to that one item or even a few isn't going to maintain a viable society and we cannot trick ourselves into accepting such a posture.
This mentality makes winning virtually impossible because you are always going to fold and whether you realize it or not are starting the game negotiating surrender and living on your knees.

(16,286 posts)There is a reason why the vast majority of minorities and Women who arent brainwashed are going to vote no matter who the nominee is.
Now, for those who are a minority who hold your view, I said a long time ago I cant walk in the shoes so I wont judge.

Maybe it is bit bigoted to paint everyone into your little boxes. Maybe they don't punch us out in a factory and just like white folks we are not produced on a template.
Let tell me you something, lack of comprehensive vision is not a virtue but a deadly and exploitable flaw no matter how noble the intentions are and if you can't grasp what a wicked vise you are in pretty quickly with this logic then I don't know what to tell you.

(33,688 posts)But the economic policy of the Turd Way Democrats is utterly indistinguishable from that of their best friends, the banksters and the plutocratic oligarchy. They may boil us frogs a little more slowly, but boil us they will. Make book on it.

(53,987 posts)...a truth they miss is which party members would be easier to get to change their positions? But it seems some are always striving for purity, but it keeps changing.
