New bill: Deputized Texas ‘bathroom cops’ risk felony if they allow trans to use bathroom

http://lexiecannes.com/2015/02/24/new-bill-deputized-texas-bathroom-cops-risk-felony-if-they-allow-trans-to-use-bathroom/

You read that right. A bill filed by a Texas state legislator would make building managers who “repeatedly allow” a trans person to use the bathroom of their gender expression subject to a state jail felony — up to 2 years in jail and a maximum $10,000 fine.

If you’re transgender and caught in the wrong bathroom, it’ll only be a misdemeanor — up to 1 year in jail and maximum $4,000 fine.

According to a report in Towleroad, it was Republican state House Rep. Debbie Riddle who introduced the bill which says “the gender of an individual is the gender established at the individual’s birth or the gender established by the individual’s chromosomes.”

This is another in a string of ridiculous bathroom bills, each with a particular twist — in this case, the jailing of individuals who find themselves newly deputized as bathroom cops but unwilling to perform that duty.

trans people.

If they do something we dont approve of we should be able to beat them (is their thinking)

I mean arent they making laws in some states that says you CAN discriminate against them?

Wouldn't a building manager have to PHYSICALLY stop you from using the bathroom?

All homophobia is violent and none of us should tolerate an ounce of it.

The bathroom cop stands by the door and requires you to submit to a patdown to find out whether or not you have the "correct" equipment? "Sorry, ma'am, I can't let you in until I check you for possible guy parts. Just doin' my job..."

Swallowing cameras to do gynecological exams. Cancer is a fungus that can be cured with baking soda. And now this.

I think I'd like to move to another planet where there are no Republicans.

The facepalm just isn't adequate any more.

Debbie Riddle is a notoriously absurd state representative. She coined the term 'terror babies' and opposed a bill allowing breastfeeding in public due to its immodesty and further, claimed undocumented workers in Texas were the cause of its budget shortfall at the turn of the 21st century.

In 2003, she said, "Where did this idea come from that everybody deserves free education, free medical care, free whatever? It comes from Moscow, from Russia. It comes straight out of the pit of hell. And it's cleverly disguised as having a tender heart. It's not a tender heart. It's ripping the heart out of this country."

She's unbalanced and a borderline racist.
