God I hope so, I hope you are right.

The most liberal person I know on the planet, who would make many here look like a teapartier, has advice for geniuses who think not voting is the answer...

here it is

Work 24/7 to change the system and to remove the mainstream politicians who are bought by Wall Street, never let up, and then once every 4 years take 5 minutes out of your day (if you are white, if you are not take 8 hours out) to vote AGAINST the terrorist rightwing assholes.

8. That "once every 4 years" ignores midterms and is a big part of the problem.

Even "once every 2 years" would give a free pass to Chris Christie and others who aren't elected in the fall of an even-numbered year.

7. I agree and disagree. Not voting is a vote. Usually a vote against the system

that only gives you a choice of two of the "established, entrenched" candidates. When a Conservative Democrat runs against a Conservative Republicon, some see that as no choice and stay home. If DLC Clinton runs against Jeb, a lot of people will view it as not enough difference to bother.

The gerrymandering, voter intimidation, Citizens United vote buying, major disenfranchisement, and outright election theft are major deterrents to voting.

once they're in office and turn all those excited voters into brainless cogs: after '08 all the veal-pen types and Rahms and neocons and neolibs were shown the door!

10. Reminds me of back about 1986, we had a radio station decide to carry Monday Night Football.

I had a job where I had to work every Monday until around half-time. I freakin' loved it! I knew what would happen though. The people it pissed off would bitch loud and hard and us guys that liked it would just enjoy hearing the game and do nothing. I warned them. I told everyone I could tell to call the station and let them know it was awesome! It lasted one season.

I knew we had people pissed off where I worked but the football fans had them outvoted. We tried to reason with them. Three freakin' hours once a week and you get your music the entire rest of the time! Shouldn't be a problem right? Not a chance! They even went to management and got shot down in flames! That only made it a grudge though. Don't underestimate the fury of someone that really hates football. I bet they called and complained countless times.

Yup. By doing nothing, you still vote.
