"NEW YORK — Mayor Bill de Blasio was headed Sunday to the LGBT-friendly alternative to New York City's main St. Patrick's Day Parade that for years has excluded official gay groups.

The Democrat last year refused to march in the Fifth Avenue parade because it still wasn't fully inclusive — although organizers said last year that they would welcome just one gay contingent under its own banner this year.

On Sunday afternoon, participants from New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and elsewhere planned to step off for what they call the St. Pat's for All march in Queens."

a lighthearted funky event, unlike the 5th Avenue "official parade" that an Irish-American program host on leftist WBAI once described as the "Bataan Death March."

But today it's snowing and I'm sticking to the indoors and steam heat.

If you click on the parade website - in the first large photo just to the right of the rainbow flag is my out n' proud City Councilmember Jimmy van Bramer. http://www.stpatsforall.com/
