One of Iowa’s first Tesla Supercharger stations will soon be available in Council Bluffs.

As part of its plans for a high-speed nationwide charging network, the California-based electric car manufacturer has built a Supercharger behind T.J. Maxx, 3815 Metro Drive.

Though the eight red charging bays have been installed, they aren’t yet operational.

A company spokeswoman declined to provide a fixed date for the Council Bluffs Supercharger’s opening, citing winter weather and other potential construction hurdles, but said “it is coming soon.”
