You know, for eight long years I was forced to put up with Jeb Bush as my governor.

Eight horrible, soul sucking years watching that clown try to destroy all that I love about my state. I watched him gut government services, attempt to destroy public education, make corrupt deals with polluters and developers selling out pristine natural areas, and just otherwise create a toxic atmosphere in Tallahassee.

If there's any possibility that he will be our next president, I will gladly rally around just about anyone the Democrats put up to oppose him.

Come to think about it, I'll feel the same way if we are forced with the prospect of union-busting Scott Walker or insufferable asshole Chris Christie as president, either.

I'm sorry I'm not in the mood for primary mudslinging here at DU these days.

And this country barely survived the last Bush in the White House. I'm not looking forward to more war, and Republicans are ITCHING for two more: Iran and Syria.

You can bet your affordable health care insurance that any Republican who gets into the White House will come in finding ways to push the United States into those two wars for Israel and for the MiC.

Thanks but no thanks. I'll vote for whichever Democrat will win the nomination, and I'll refuse to tear down any Democratic candidate before noon January 20,2017.

deciding the best candidate for our side. How can you get the omelet without breaking some eggs? I'm with ya ... let the best candidate come out of the primaries with the mud on them and then crush the republicans with their STRENGTH. To merely step aside for a candidate broadcasts unbelievable WEAKNESS and will be seen as such by the voting public. We. will. lose.

But I sure do hope we have a better candidate in the general!

Bernie would be AWESOME but he doesn't have "the looks" to pass muster in today's photoshopped/airbrush infotainment news industry. And it's very unfortunate that many people wouldn't be able to look past that and pay attention to what he's actually saying and proposing because he is SPOT ON!!

My perception of MM is that he's quite the schmoozer, a natural politician. It doesn't surprise me at all that he would be effective. A lot of the rest of us here are definitely not natural politicians even if we are interested in politics. There aren't all that many NASCAR fans who can even pit crew, let alone drive.

...how to get into politics, since he said he wanted to run for statewide office some day. Ech, the guy was such a bullshitter. But I patiently explained how to get his name known by running for some easy to win local office and then start leapfrogging up. His eyes totally glazed over.

Count me among the legions who are not natural politicians -- it's really not me. But I am interested, and I can sure recognize someone with valid longtime experience willing to share what he knows.

You can reason your way through a situation with a pissed off rattlesnake if you aren't too close or haven't stepped on it and diffuse the situation. Plus a rattlesnake is smarter.

Whoever the Democratic Party picks out before we even have our primaries in NC (we will be left with whoever hasn't dropped out by then), I will vote for one of them. Whoever wins that gets my vote in the general. Unless I am on my death bed and unable to move or speak or blink Morse code or whatever other method would be acceptable to vote, I will vote against any Bush that ever tries to get near the White House again. And that goes for the other moronic Republican jerks who will be running too. I don't want any of those assholes near the White House again. I will vote against them even if I have to crawl to the polls for some reason.

So, all in all, unless someone really inspires me at this point, I kind of don't care who gets picked in the Democratic primaries at this point. ABB ABR Anybody But Bush Anybody But Republicans and that includes their idiot cousins, the Teabaggers. Anybody but them too.

Obama has largely followed the Wall Street agenda, especially on K-12 public education.

The primary difference with Republicans is he is at least willing to spend money on ed.

Hillary is from the same wing of the Democratic Party. What evidence is there that she will be any less corporate compliant?
