California eyes Right to Rest Act to stem criminalization of homeless

The state Senate bill describes the right to rest in public, to protect oneself from the elements in public, to eat in public and to occupy a legally parked car as “basic human and civil rights.”

Cities are actively depriving people of places to even sit in an effort to get homeless people to "move elsewhere" at a time when there is an epic housing crunch in certain parts of California! The wrongness of this situation can't be overstated.

Also a graying population needs those benches back, too. *hobbles*
