So, if the GOP Congress wants to start a mob crime family, no one can stop them?

Somebody please clarify something for me. If members of Congress commit crimes, they have to be indicted and tried by Congress, correct? Meaning that if a majority of the people in Congress---by definition this would have to be the GOP--decided to form their own drug cartel, extortion racket or any other criminal enterprise, they could--as long as a majority of them signed on? Am I reading the law correctly?

Does this mean that if a majority of Congress people decide to commit treason by selling our enemies secrets and weapons, they can do it with impunity?

I'm not sure a majority of Congress can break the law, wouldn't they be amending the law TheKentuckian Mar 2015 #2

If members are to be expelled from congress, there has to be a vote of Congress. If they commit a crime, the can be arrested by any (brave as hell) LE Officer, indicted and tried in state or federal court.

to make whatever was illegal ok (this assumes beating a veto)?

At that point you need the Supreme Court to deem the legislation to be unconstitutional otherwise it is legal by definition.
