<snip>
Tomorrow, 24 hours later, Cotton will appear at an Off the Record and strictly Non-Attribution event with the National Defense Industrial Association, a lobbying and professional group for defense contractors.
The NDIA is composed of executives from major military businesses such as Northrop Grumman, L-3 Communications, ManTech International, Boeing, Oshkosh Defense and Booz Allen Hamilton, among other firms.
Cotton strongly advocates higher defense spending and a more aggressive foreign policy. As The New Republics David Ramsey noted, Pick a topic Syria, Iran, Russia, ISIS, drones, NSA snooping and Cotton can be found at the hawkish outer edge of the debate During his senate campaign, he told a tele-townhall that ISIS and Mexican drug cartels joining forces to attack Arkansas was an urgent problem.'
On Iran, Cotton has issued specific calls for military intervention. In December he said Congress should consider supplying Israel with B-52s and so-called bunker-buster bombs both items manufactured by NDIA member Boeing to be used for a possible strike against Iran.

(3,919 posts)he has nowhere to hide now & he should be forced to resign. he is a risk to the security of our nation. sincerely hope the people who elected him will come to their senses and understand he is weak, compromised, & he is owned by nefarious outside interests and is not be working on behalf their safety and well being.

(111,300 posts)once in a while. The NY Post is the Murdoch rag that rarely gets anything right.
Undermining the State Department might just haunt these sanctimonious servants of Koch Industries, Israel, and the MIC. They stepped over a very well delineated Separation of Powers line with the threat contained in that letter of nullifying any agreement.
Stepping between the State Dept. and a foreign power is not their job. Approving or rejecting a final agreement is their job and until the agreement is finalized and presented to them, they don't have anything to say about it, constitutionally speaking.
This is what happens when the Democratic Party abandons labor and nobody votes except the conservatives, we get a bunch of ignorant clowns whose only reason to keep breathing is SPITE.

(12,471 posts)Today it is only moderately liberal.
It used to be if you are a liberal you read the News, conservatives read the Post. There was always controversy about who had the best sports, so many bought both papers. That is back when they cost a dime each.
Times have changed though.

(12,471 posts)They haven't ran anything bad about the RepubliCONs since the 70s.
In case you don't know, the NY Post is the NY paper that is owned by Rupert Murdock.
The only time they MIGHT run something about it, is if a scantily clad woman were involved. Then it would be on page 6.

(95,337 posts)There is a serious mentality out there that these Tea Party crazies want their own United States separate from everyone else where no taxes are paid, no laws infringe on their personal being unless of course if they aren't straight white male land owners (then who cares).
And the religious fundies love this because anything that can start a war related to Israel means we are one step closer to Armageddon because all of that is suppose to happen around Israel.
The idiots are celebrating this headline because well they are stupid. Anyone with a decent IQ know what these traitors did was try to instigate a war. One day I hope the voters who didn't vote wake up and realize what they have brought upon themselves by not showing up at the polls.

(2,382 posts)I don't fuckin' think so. Republicans are so consumed with malice, and the entire party is so infested with bad seeds who have been treacherous, lying sociopaths from birth, that they are congenitally incapable of responsible stewardship. When one of Murdoch's rags turns on 'em like a junkyard dog, you KNOW they've crossed a line!
May this fiasco signal the beginning of their ignominious demise.

(3,412 posts)Just like the GOP got Ken Star appointed, because they didn't
like the out come of the first investigation of white water.
They rallied to support for their nonsense . Surly with the real issue of
treason and the possibility that the GOP a plotting a War, we can rally the
American people, to stand up for their lives and their children's lives
that will be sent to this war.
All democrats would have to do is stay focus on this one issue everyday, until
like the GOP(like small brats get their way) democrats can get their way on behalf of
the American lives.

(5,287 posts)We are losing our form of governance due to run away Presidents like Bush and now Obama. One is no better then the other, both tried to rule over an whole nation of people with little regards to the common welfare of all citizens not only those belonging to one party over the other. People our nation is in some serious trouble here...President Obama has done far worst then President Bush who set all this up to begin with.
We should not hope for one person to tell a whole nation what he is going to order us all to do, governance of our nation should be done thru all 3 branches of our government frame. We are losing America behind these parties and their crowned rulers they keep putting in place to take her from us all. Wake up and think Country before party or we are doom to keep losing her behind a party system which could care less about any of us, Wake Up people!
