the obvious fact that any Democrat, regardless of how conservative they may be, is still preferable to any Republican.
If Boren was still the Democratic Senator from Oklahoma, he would be routinely vilified, if not flat-out excoriated as a "DINO", a "DNC stooge", "A third-way whatever they're supposed to be called" or some other appellation. Yep, he was a conservative Democrat. BECAUSE HE WAS RUNNING FOR OFFICE IN OKLA-FUCKING-HOMA!
Yet when push came to shove, he proved once again that when it's time to act, any Democrat is preferable to any Republican. Racist fuckwads … GET THE FUCK OUT OF HIS UNIVERSIY! Who thinks that Tom Coburn or James Inhofe would have made the same call?
