It all started when...

...somebody came up with the bright idea of helping Benjamin Netanyahu with his election in Israel and dividing the Jewish voters in this country into different camps. It was all political.

So, the great thinker and alcoholic, John Boehner, invited Mr. Netanyahu to speak before the US Congress, without consulting the President of the United States. It was a blatant display of arrogance and incompetence.

Then, in an effort to help Mr Netanyahu a little more, the Repubs decided to double down on Bibi's "Iran" speech. Led by a young war veteran from Arkansas, Tom Cotton, they decided to send the Ayatollahs a letter telling them, in no uncertain terms, that the President was not the legitimate leader of this country and that any agreements reached through months and months of negotiations would be null and void. Forty-seven Republican Senators lined up to sign the letter.

If they were not US Senators, they would be tried and convicted of sedition. But, by their positions of power, they will escape criminal prosecution. I suppose they could all plead ignorance of the law?

After serious sit-down discussions with our national security people, they now see the error of their ways. In their haste to score political points, they put our national security at risk.

In the end, the corporate media will arbitrate this dispute, as they have done with the Hillary emails. Republicans can take the most trivial and useless argument and turn it into a scandal against their political opponents. It is so easy for them. They just snap their fingers and the toadies in the media come running to report on their "scandal". If it wasn't the emails, it would be something else. And it will be something else.

And if it doesn't work, they can simply say, "Just kidding". What sa matter? You can't take a joke?
