A grand jury found no criminal conduct Wednesday on the part of authorities in connection with six deaths.
Grand jurors cleared Omaha Police Officer Alvin Lugod, who shot robbery suspect Danny Elrod twice in the back.
On Feb. 23, Omaha police tracked down Elrod after they responded to a robbery call at the Family Dollar store on South 13th Street. Officers repeatedly told Elrod to show his hands and get on the ground. He refused.
Elrod who was later determined to be unarmed reached into his waistband several times, Police Chief Todd Schmaderer has said. Lugod warned Elrod that he was going to get shot.
