Two Officers Shot Overnight At Ferguson, Missouri

By nadinabbott on March 12, 2015 • ( 0 )

March 12, 2015 (FERGUSON, MISSOURI) Two officers, since released from the hospital, were shot overnight in Ferguson, Missouri, in what was mostly a peaceful demonstration. One might even call it a celebration. During the stream that we were able to watch, there was mostly celebration and the usual chants including, “who’s streets, our streets.” This came near the end.

Attorney General Eric Holder released a statement where he said: ”

This heinous assault on two brave law enforcement officers was inexcusable and repugnant. I condemn violence against any public safety officials in the strongest terms, and the Department of Justice will never accept any threats or violence directed at those who serve and protect our communities—from this cowardly action, to the killing of an officer in Philadelphia last week while he was buying a game for his son, to the tragic loss of a Deputy U.S. Marshal in the line of duty in Louisiana earlier this week. Such senseless acts of violence threaten the very reforms that nonviolent protesters in Ferguson and around the country have been working towards for the past several months. We wish these injured officers a full and speedy recovery. We stand ready to offer any possible aid to an investigation into this incident, including the department’s full range of investigative resources. And we will continue to stand unequivocally against all acts of violence against cops whenever and wherever they occur.”

The following is a tweet from the President.

Violence against police is unacceptable. Our prayers are with the officers in MO. Path to justice is one all of us must travel together. –bo

Now we have SWAT units on the scene. People have been taken into custody.

the shooting here does seem very convenient for the racists who wish to discredit the marchers for justice. I am certain that Faux News will use it as "proof" that the problem is with the marchers.

However, I do believe I agree with you. It is pretty convenient news for the racists.

Thanks guillaumed.

8. Fox and Fiends is pissed because they want folks to react to their lies; not to the truth of the Ferguson Report.

6. Fox and CNN seem to want a Race War so bad - you can almost feel it through the screen.

The Calm of Obama will not permit what they want - and a booming economy is a huge obstacle when a fascist, media led coup is being attempted.

Who knows who the rather poor marksmanship shooter is, but once again Fox is not required to use evidence, they can just lie and speculate. Freely, because no one takes them seriously anymore other than their usual cult viewers, and no one in traditional media has the balls to say so.

About Fox I would say these days about their "opinions"...what difference does it make?

Who was driven away from DU by a cruel group of people here. She may still lurk, but she won't post.

And yup, I consider her a friend.

I checked the link and was pleased to see who was behind it.

Wish I had had the time to look her up when I was down there last fall. I'll be going back later in the year so maybe I'll have time to do that then. I'd love to meet her.

Thanks for the link!! (Can't remember who posted it at this second but I appreciate it!)
