There is a big difference between having fluoride in toothpaste and spitting it out, and constantly running that stuff through your body.

The Harvard studies indicate a relation between fluoride and developmental problems in children. And the years of fluoridation may be one reason why the health of Americans in general seems to be worse than the health of people of similar age groups in other advanced countries without fluoridation.

On a trip back to the US once in my mid-40s I had to see a doctor about a minor problem. I noted in my paperwork that I was not taking any medications, and the staff were surprised about that. But here in unfluoridated Japan, it's the rule, rather than the exception.

And speaking of Japan, kids' teeth seem to be, overall, in as good shape here as they are in other advanced countries, whether or not those countries have fluoridated water.

I wish I could have talked to you about that in private first. Admitting smoking on DU will bring down the worst nagging and hatred ever imaginable on this site. They are younger than most of DU and are not going to stop carrying on like they are. Get ready, this is sooo not over with yet. We're into an era of generational warfare, militarily and politically. The righties are more than able to keep going, they always have been. It's only our actions that prove what we believe in that will hold them off. I just don't see much of that at DU.
