CREW asks the FCC to revoke Fox's broadcast license

Ethics watchdog asks FCC to revoke Fox's broadcast licenses
By Andrew Feinberg - 05/02/12 09:56 AM ET

An ethics watchdog group is using the hacking scandal in the United Kingdom to call on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to cancel Fox's broadcast licenses.

The Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Government (CREW) sent a letter to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski on Tuesday, arguing that U.S. law states that broadcast airwaves shall only be licensed to people of "good character" and used "in the public interest."

They're asking the FCC to revoke broadcast licenses for the 27 stations the Fox network owns in the United States.

Rupert Murdoch heads News Corp., the parent company of Fox. Murdoch's former newspaper, News of the World, is under investigation in England for allegedly bugging phones in order to obtain stories.

I expect Morbid Murdy would hand it over to the devil Ailes (on paper) but any disruption to their foul noise machine would be welcome.

..ask the INS to revoke Murdoch's citizenship and deported back to Australia.

..ask the DEA to check James Murdoch's house for illegal drugs.

..ask IRS to do an complete audit on News Corp's finances and penalize them at the maximum, plus interest dating back to when Murdoch moved to the US.

But I'm sure as hell not holding my breath.

One can dream. But then I'm still dreaming about the Hague for Bush and the bankers who slaughtered our economy...

As far as I know it is only cable and satellite. I don't believe a cable only channel has to acquire an FCC license.

So enjoy the popcorn but that's all you will get out of this story.
