AFA's Sandy Rios says sex trafficking is "Overblown"

"Teh gayz is coming for us!"

Sandy Rios: Conservatives Should Fight Gay Rights Instead Of 'Overblown' Sex Trafficking

Submitted by Brian Tashman on Tuesday, 3/17/2015 1:25 pm

Sandy Rios, the right-wing radio host and American Family Association governmental affairs director, is outraged at the GOP’s handling of legislation to combat sex trafficking, a bipartisan bill whose passage may be threatened because of an anti-abortion provision quietly added in by Republican leadership. Rios said her problem isn’t with the anti-choice add-on, which she supports, but with the fact that Republicans are pushing for the legislation at all at a time when they should instead be fighting to stop gay rights. She claimed that conservatives should see the fight against sex trafficking as “secondary” to combatting homosexuality since the latter is “threatening the culture” while trafficking “has been overblown.”

overblown, which it is NOT, eradicating it should be a priority of all decent human beings. And why, why, why, do these weirdos hate gay people so much? I cannot fathom it? ?

Stunning in its callousness and cruelty. I know I shouldn't be surprised anymore by these cretins, but from time to time, it just beggars description. "Yeah, girls and young women are being kidnapped and forced into being sex slaves, but that's peanuts compared to consenting adults fucking in ways I don't approve of!"

I'll pray for Sandy Rios, and hope that a nascent conscience takes root in her shriveled little heart.

I haven't because I know what would turn up.

Sex trafficking and sex tourism is a horrible reality.

Homosexuality, including marriage, between consenting adults is a basic human right.

Homosexual relationships deserve to be celebrated in our society just as heterosexual relationships are.

My kids are adults with "significant others," and I'm approaching grandparent age. One of my siblings is already there, a grandparent.

More and more in my increasingly old fart people watching I tend to think things like "happy young couple" and smile, recalling my own youth.

I was fortunate to grow up in a family where homosexuality was not a sin. All are welcomed in my parent's house, just as they are in mine.

Anyways, yesterday I walked past a woman-woman happy young couple and smiled, which is why I'm recalling this. And I've felt the same seeing man-man happy young couples. That's what I mean by "celebrating." Not only do we "accept," (or, horrors, "tolerate&quot , we celebrate!

I want to be that old man with a cheerful twinkle in his eye as he glances at and passes by the happy couple smooching in the park, most especially those this Sandy Rios might scowl at.

I agree, the full, raucous spectrum of consenting adult human sexuality - all of it - is something to be celebrated, not censored or complained about or considered "problematic" or even "tolerated"

who was kidnapped in her early 20s and forced into prostitution. She was a small town rural girl who ran into the wrong guys at a party. A couple years later she managed to escape in another state and return home. Did not discuss it much, but it does show me that it happens. Even here in the land of the free, there are still forced slaves.
