McConnell practices overreach to submarine the efforts of the Pres who Mitch says overreaches. And in doing so, shows he cares little for the miners & their families' who 'owe their souls to the company store.' Why look f/ a new economic base not tied to coal? After all, Alaska's oil-based economy has worked so well lately...

If he were a true leader, he would spearhead a major shift to manufacturing solar and wind energy components in Kentucky. Additionally, he could lead he charge in extending the federal tax credit for installing renewable energy beyond 2016 and encourage everyone to install renewable energy components.

He is ignorant, greedy or stupid.

cheap natural gas and a big drop in exports to China is what is killing the coal industry.
