(13,598 posts)In itself, it's clearly harmless - the danger to gay rights comes from more mainstream Republicans who might actually get things passed, not from people like this.
The slightly harder question is whether by associating "anti-gay" with "obviously mad", he's helping, or whether by giving Republicans something to triangulate against he's harming.
But, either way, he won't change much, and can safely be dismissed.

It will be interesting to see whether he does better with the signature gathering process this time.
