(111,334 posts)so this might not be over yet.
Anything with enough oomph to bring rain to the high desert generally picks up a lot of strength as it mushes on east.

(1,352 posts)It is the first day of spring, and my birthday.

Man from Pickens
(1,713 posts)I don't mind at all.
Every time it snows up north, it confirms the correctness of my decision to move away from, as a great man once put it, "four billion tons of white bullshit".
70 degrees and sunny here today.
Really don't understand why anyone voluntarily subjects themselves to it.

(16,201 posts)It's nice to have seasons other than heat turned on or
Man from Pickens
(1,713 posts)just winter is short and the rest are longer

(16,201 posts)I grew up on the coast of the Southeastern coastal plain and often remarked to the fundamentalists that infest that region that I could never fear hell as it had to be cooler there.

(1,713 posts)Right in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains... beautiful, clean, WARM and all four seasons present!

(7,475 posts)It makes everything look clean again, including the 6 foot drifts I still have in my yard.. Lovely! I don't have words nasty enough to describe how we all feel.

(36,223 posts)that I'm thinking of moving to where the weather is a bit warmer and has less snow... Alaska!

(46,436 posts)It was positively springlike here today.
MANative
(4,112 posts)Now it's all covered again with about four inches of fresh snow. Winter doesn't leave New England until mid-April, at the earliest; the fallacy of spring beginning in March lives on!

(46,179 posts)We had a bizarre warm, wet winter that has left us without a decent snow pack to get us through summer and the fire season.

(37,457 posts)Let's send some warmth to the Northeast, and they can send the snow to Florida
haikugal
(6,476 posts)and we're covered again...looked like about 4 inches but it was warm @ 39 degrees..it was pretty coming down the way it did, I don't mind. I like the cold and wilt when we get humid summer temps. I made sure the wild birds had plenty of seed and the horse lots of hay and made a pot of bone broth, yum. Pup and I snuggled down. My only complaint is that spring is always so busy once it gets going...we have to catch up on everything that didn't get done when it was too cold for me to do much.
I'm sorry for those here who didn't get enough rain and are facing more drought and hot temps. Very concerned about our climate.
Enjoy the day!

(135,425 posts)We have two crappy cars--the crappy car that is better in snow in the one I dug out and kept uncovered. The other one has a huge pile of snow on it. I finally saw the roof and the windscreen after days of slow melting. Can't see 'em now!! I'm sure the battery will be flat when I finally get in that thing again....

Blue_In_AK
(46,436 posts)almost 50 degrees here in Anchorage the past few days. The snow is almost all gone out of my yard, unheard of for this time of year.
