At some time during your life you’ve probably read a book or heard a story by Mark Twain.

But did you know that this renowned American author was also a strong supporter of labor?

In 1835 he was born Samuel Clemens in town of Hannibal, Missouri.

Many consider him to be the first stand up comedian. In his later years he gave paid lectures
where he told stories and read from his writings.

I believe he was also the first American writer to use a typewriter.

of his complete short stories, some are extracts from longer tales of books he wrote. Some are hilarious and have me in tears when I read them. Have to admit I have to leave a few years' space between readings so I can forget the finer details.

And I did know good bit about him already. I also saw a documentary about him several years ago, may have been a PBS production.
