There were a few other organizations that moved their center of activity from a web page to Facebook -- or never had a web page -- that I was interested in checking in on occasionally, but I had to be a Facebook member to even view their FB page. So I eventually gave up and crumbled and joined. I've succeeded mostly in staying in lurk mode, except for about a year or so that I got involved in a certain other group and was wasting a lot of time, so I eventually left -- very liberating.
