He will have a small following of folks who rabidly follow every word he says. But that's it. Look at where Palin is now. She's a joke, even for Republicans.

He's much smarter than Palin as Deutch concedes but he will end up occupying the same place on the political spectrum...He's also battling Huckabee and Santorum for that space, the former of whom is just as appealing to that part of the spectrum.

nor is he as likable and that's to say he is very hateable, cuz Palin is as likeable as a rabid ferret. He isn't as theatrical either unless you like uber villain as theatre. But, I think he will be a faint memory in 3 years or less.
