NBC News President Obama stops in the middle of his remarks at the White House Science Fair to call attention to a burning smell in the room. Obama jokes that the last time there was a fire at the White House "the British were invading."

Was that Malia standing on his right? She hid her face, almost in embarrassment, when he told the joke about the last fire in the whitehouse was when the British were invading.

...oh, right, that was during the Bartlet Administration.



Our sad alternate reality got the Cheney administration, which was in no way entertaining. Whenever the Cheney administration did something foolish, they didn't just set off the smoke alarms, instead, many thousand people would die.

If he smelled it he'd know the other people in the room needed some reassurance that it was being dealt with or was OK. Dubya would have droned on while everybody wondered.

The girl with long hair at the left really cracked up at the joke.
