It's not "going down to Conservatives' level" to call them on their hypocrisy.

I'm not asserting that Cruz isn't eligible to run for President.

But I definitely will confront birther Conservatives on why they don't object to Cruz and why they aren't asking for the same level of proof of citizenship if they objected to Obama.

Just like I will question every Republican I see on why they didn't protest against Mark Sanford being elected to congress if an affair was such a terrible thing for Bill Clinton.

It's the hypocrisy.

Ted Cruz is white enough to be American, unlike the other guy.

The birther controversy is the post-civil rights era version of the literacy test.

No high road, hit them hard. Cruz does not have an American birth certificate.

....and who is not a citizen. The Birthers have repeated certain memes so often and for so long that they have become accepted "truth" -- to wit, that a person who is born outside the US is not a citizen even if they have one parent who is a citizen.

No no no no. Such a person IS a US citizen from birth and IS eligible to run for POTUS. Much as it grieves me to defend Cruz on this or any score, I keep reading here that Dems are supposed to call out Cruz for being ineligible.

I am only too happy to join you in calling out the hypocrisy of the GOP. The GOP is fine with Romney, McCain, and Cruz. The GOP even flirted with Ahnold Shwartzenegger, ffs, and he was not only born in Austria, so were all his ancestors. But Obama, who was born in the 50th State to a mother whose family was born in the US for many generations? Noooo.

That's the kind of thing that makes you notice all those other guys are white, but he's not.
