To C-span or not to C-span?

It’s tempting to quit watching. Much as I prefer to stay informed without any media filter, my peace of mind takes a hit way too often. As a senior citizen and member of the disabled community, the unrelenting GOP threats to Medicare and Social Security are just damned painful.

But I’ll probably keep watching, because on some level it’s preferable to know where the attacks are coming from rather than waiting to get mugged in the dark. That said, it would be nice if just once Republicans said something other than “fuck you” to senior citizens.

I got tired of all the republican guests and coverage of conservative conferences. I rarely saw any democratic events being covered. I used to watch "Booknotes" every Sunday when Brian Lamb was on. That was years ago, though. The show that replaced it is dullsville.

When we found FSTV, the Free Speech TV Network it was like the skies parted with Thom Hartmann's daily program, Amy Goodman, documentaries.

we were visiting my daughter and SIL and they had just gotten a DISH upgrade. We danced around the dial and I came across this show of a woman squatting in a tree to keep it from getting cut down. Went back home and got DISH upgrade the next day.

That was @12 years ago.

e-newsletter that we subscribe to. It often has news of these issues and veteran matters. Maybe you have it. Thom Hartmann has him as a guest to answer callers questions on Fridays, 'Brunch with Bernie', 12-3 PM, ET online, radio and on the (FSTV) Free Speech TV network on Dish, Direct and some cable carriers. It's heartening to hear him try to help and direct as much as he can seniors, vets, others with medical problems, esp. in more rural areas. He even tells some to contact his office for assistance. What our country has come to is shameful. Best of luck. ~ Visit the Free Speech TV website, freespeech.org, for info. on how to listen or watch their programs.
