Christian Conservatives, wear the label of Christian...their actions are indicative of people who want to be part of the "cool" crowd without really earning it.

But they are assholes!

You don't get to be a Christian by simply 'believing' in Christ. You also have to believe in, and try and follow, his teachings. You know, the 'love thy neighbor', the 'forgiveness', etc.

Luke 23:26

discriminating against the Canaanites?
Matthew 15:24-27

unleash a hoard of zombies?
Matthew 27:52-53

confuse people so they will go to hell?
Mark 4:11-12

Jesus taught a lot of things.

Mar 2015

Buying weapons?
Luke 23:26 - As the soldiers led him away, they seized Simon from Cyrene, who was on his way in from the country, and put the cross on him and made him carry it behind Jesus.

Discrimination?
Matthew 15:24-27
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.

Zombies?
Matthew 27:52-53
Since Matthew wrote about the time immediately after Jesus died on the cross, you can't really claim it as a teaching of Jesus.

Mark 4:11-12
Jesus was quoting Isiah from the Old Testament. The very next verse is:
13 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable?
14 The farmer sows the word.
15 Some people are like seed along the path, where the word is sown. As soon as they hear it, Satan comes and takes away the word that was sown in them.

Which, to me, is the equivalent of "There are none so blind as they who will not see."

So, I'm not sure what your verses mean to you, but I don't get it.

Luke 22:36 -- sorry typo

Matthew 15:24-27
He refused the woman of Canaan because he was not sent for her and compared her to a dog. She then begged for scraps.

Matthew 27:52-53
I concede this was more aof an action than a teaching.

Mark 4:11-12
He's quoting Isaiah to justify being a dick--unless condemning people to Hell by hiding necessary truths that could save them isn't being a dick.

If it walks like a duck, prays like a duck, and calls itself a duck, it's a duck.

OK, that comparison and parallel didn't work out quite as well as I thought it would, but you get the idea.

On top of that, the NALT (Not All Like That) types are also Christians. They're the wishy-washy kinda bigoted types who won't say it in public, but also never do that much to counter the far right.

You just don't hear about them because they aren't out there ranting and raving. Instead they are quietly working in soup kitchens, volunteering in food banks, etc. They may or may not go to church on Sunday, but the try and live according to the tenants of Christianity.

" If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,[a] but have not love, I gain nothing."

Christianity is a religion of love, not hate. "Love does not insist on its own way."

Remember, Dr. King was a Christian. He was a Rev as well as a Dr.

best sign: christian fundamental fascism is a form of fascism not a form of christianity. Also why is their a southern baptist church and southern methodist church separate from baptist and methodist. I wonder what made them separate before the civil war?

There is no such thing as not being a true christian. If people claim to believe in Jesus Christ as their savior they are Christians. That's the only requirement to make the claim. Jesus discriminated. Matthew 15:21-27 is quite revealing.

Let's transcend from specious religious morality to human morality.
