I have yet to see Going Clear myself, but I've done enough research on Scientology to uncover many of the scandals and human rights violations revealed on that documentary. Time to end the charade and starve the beast.

(39,343 posts)In fact, I don't see a petition getting much done at all, but if it makes you feel better.
But these yahoos had to infiltrate the IRS and steal a bunch of files and try to dig up dirt on officials....you know, just like any other "normal" religion does when applying for tax free status.
All religions are a scam, it's just that some of them are new enough for us to clearly see the bullshit while others were apparently grandfathered in and are above reproach. A hundred years ago, we'd be ranting and raving about the sheer lunacy and fraud behind the Mormon church, and hundreds of years ago we'd be pointing out the silliness of those people wearing the funny hats, calling themselves Catholics. I've digressed. Good luck with your petition.
