Election complaints filed against Scott Walker, Jeb Bush

http://www.jsonline.com/news/statepolitics/election-complaints-filed-against-scott-walker-jeb-bush-b99472857z1-298223931.html

Washington — Two nonpartisan groups filed election complaints Tuesday against Gov. Scott Walker, Jeb Bush and two others, accusing them of ignoring the strict caps on contributions to politicians who are running for president or testing the waters for a White House bid.

Walker, for instance, has been raising unlimited donations for his political committee, Our American Revival, while traveling widely, hiring dozens of staff and laying the groundwork for a campaign. The complaints charge that this amounts to "testing the waters," which must be done within the strict contribution limits — $2,700 per donor per election — that apply to presidential candidates.

"These 2016 presidential contenders must take the American people for fools — flying repeatedly to Iowa and New Hampshire to meet with party leaders and voters, hiring campaign staff, and raising millions of dollars from deep-pocketed mega-donors, all the while denying that they are even 'testing the waters' of a presidential campaign," said Paul S. Ryan, senior counsel to the Campaign Legal Center, one of the groups that filed the complaint with the Federal Election Commission.

...

In their complaint against Walker, the groups say all the Wisconsin governor's political activities suggest he not only meets the legal definition of testing the waters but has for practical purposes become a candidate. The complaint says that Walker has in fact referred to himself as a candidate, citing his March 1 interview with Chris Wallace of Fox News. In declaring he had shifted his position on immigration, Walker told Wallace, "my view (on the issue) has changed. I'm flat out saying it.... Candidates can say that."

They will play every dirty trick in the book and then make a new book. Scott Walker won't make it too far in the clown car and Jeb will use them all as cover to get to the finish line. What a bunch of useless bags of flesh.

The clown car was always just an opening act for Jeb. Jebbie has been holding off because a) he needs the stink from W to be a little forgotten b) he wanted to see how vulnerable Clinton was. But he's the one the establishment really wants. The whacko fundies and teapartiers are just noise; the real power brokers just use them to whip people to the polls.

The real Republican agenda is money & power for themselves and their friends in the MIC/Oil. Notice how Santorum was the rwnj choice, but ultimately, the plutocrat Rmoney ended up being the victor. He promised to be compliant and not let his convictions get in the way of profits. That is the main goal, not any kind of "conservative values." It has been and will always be the Prodigal Son, Jeb. The BFEE is so deep and so entrenched in the Republican Party (and the Democratic as well), that no one has the mojo to beat them. They are ruthless, connected, and have unlimited funds. That's who the Koch's are really trying to beat by building up the TP and sycophants like Walker. They will be given a good thrashing as well.

I have been saying this since about 2010 when old Jeb started showing his chunky mug around. He would never run against Obama in 2012 because he was sure to lose. I wasn't sure if he would go for 2016 but it looks like he will. I have even made a friendly wager on DU that if I'm wrong, I pay $100 to a charity of his choice. And I will certainly pay, but I feel so strongly that Jeb will be the nominee that I'm not worried about losing. And that thought is one of the most disturbing I can even imagine. I don't believe in Armageddon, and I don't want to find out. But a President Bush III truly is the signal that we deserve to go the way of Rome.

He's no doubt more easily controlled by TPTB than Jeb. Don't doubt that they will make him their guy.

We should all gather together and debrief after that tragedy is over. Both choices are as depressing as hell.
