Indiana pizza joint says they will refuse service to same sex couples...

WALKERTON, Ind. - A small-town pizza shop is saying they agree with Governor Pence and the signing of the controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

The O'Connor family, who owns Memories Pizza, says they have a right to believe in their religion and protect those ideals.

“If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no,” says Crystal O'Connor of Memories Pizza.

I live in the south. I have personally witnessed merchants attempt to avoid serving black people. In fact I witnessed it in Ohio as well. I speak up when I see this, but the point is that it happens despite laws and Supreme Court decisions that very clearly outlaw racial discrimination in public accommodations.

With laws that actually protect discrimination now, why should we believe that any merchant will serve gay people?

Lots of bigoted people and business owners will out themselves.

Major corporations (our evil overlords?!) are being very outspoken about their disapproval of this law.

It's driving near daily coverage of discrimination issues in national media.

Indiana has now effectively legalized marijuana use for churches.

Indiana's ban on polygamy would probably not pass the strict scrutiny tests of religious freedom.

Though I think it's the implementation of the last two that will drive Indiana to abandon this law rather than the first two.

He's confused; a pizza store is not a church. A stores is open to the public, all those taxpayers who paid for all the government services and the infrastructure that he relies on to run his business. He can't have it both ways; the public that pays for all the necessities he needs to stay in business, is the same the public he is refusing to serve.

of the way we were

Scattered pictures of the smiles we left behind
Smiles we gave to one another for the way we were.

Can it be that it was all so simple then
Or has time rewritten every line
If we had the chance to do it all again, tell me, would we, could we

Memories may be beautiful and yet
What's too painful to remember we simply choose to forget
So it's the laughter we will remember
Whenever we remember the way we were.

O'Connor says because she's a Christian, she and her family don't support a gay marriage and that is their right.

She has the right to marry her husband, she does not have the right to tell others who they should marry.

Kevin O'Connor, Crystal's father, says he believes the negative backlash the bill and its supporters are getting isn't fair.

“That lifestyle is something they choose. I choose to be heterosexual. They choose to be homosexual. Why should I be beat over the head to go along with something they choose?” says Kevin O'Connor.

Why do christians believe they have the right to tell others how to live their lives?

They also need to make sure all of the ingredients are grown in separate fields. They can't have employees who shave (hope they use face nets) and they can't serve or employ anyone who has tattoos.
If this bigotry is part of their "religion" they can't pick and choose, they need to REALLY follow the book they base this crap on.

I am sort of glad the bigots are showing their colors, I would prefer to know if I had been doing business with someone who thinks like this so I can stop giving them my money.

And I have been to many different weddings, including a lesbian wedding and one with a clown, and I have never seen pizza served. Even at the most casual ones.

Edited to add: they can't have sausage, pepperoni or Canadian bacon on the pizza either!
