The religious right views God's law as supreme. And it does not matter what the law of the land they will still discriminate because God's law supersedes ALL human law. So no matter what happens on the LGBT matter or any other matter they do not approve of they will stay in REVOLT against what they view a illegitimate secular government at ALL levels.
Theocracy to them is the only acceptable government going forward. RFRA is just a reflection of their intransigent attitude. That is why they are attacking on not only just the LGBT rights they are attacking everywhere and that includes women, minorities rights, et al.
These people are totally off the rails. And deep down they are a white supremacist movement that just does not recognize diversity. Look at the larger picture to them this is A WHITE SUPREMACIST CHRISTIAN NATION. They will never rest until they achieve that. They are OUR ISIS. Good thing they are not beheading people. However in a certain way they are vicious mean and hateful as a group. They also support the SECOND amendment BTW.
And deep down the GOP is really an extremist religious party. The GOP has been infiltrated and commandeered by this group even though they are a minority. And ALL the GOP presidential candidates really DO support their agenda by showing their support for Indiana recently.
Read the writing on the wall. They intend to infiltrate the government and overthrow it eventually. Recently Mr. Larsen said that that is his intention. And even though he might be a kook. What he is saying needs to be taken seriously.

(27,670 posts)I know many real Christians, and they are awesome people.
I also know many people who are religious right wing. Their sole basis of their existence, and the religion they have created, is hate.
If a person is empathic, they can feel the difference between real Christians and RW religious wackos just by being near them.
RW religious people reek of hatred and lunacy.

16 These six things doth the Lord hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:
17 A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,
18 An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,
19 A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
And this is the real truth:
They profess to know God, but they deny Him by their works. They are detestable, disobedient, and disqualified for any good work. - Titus I 1:16

(10,602 posts)These lily white hate groups who call themselves Christians are the ones who are in the GOP. And they are "tent revival" cults. The preachers in these cults are just snake oil sales people who know nothing of the Bible. They just use it to make money. And it is they that dominate the public landscape.

(20,003 posts)Protected by law, religion often serves as a cover for scoundrels who want to do diabolical shit to people they hate and want to get rid of. Imagine the KKK or ISIS with legal protections.
