I would like to take this opportunity to publicly apologize to Governor Chris Christie. I've been a bit tough on the guy detailing all of his ethical shortcomings and questionable practices. I really have to say I'm sorry. I have changed my mind about the governor. I think he's really done a terrific job here in NJ. He's a straight-shooting "tell it like it is" guy and I have now come to admire his style. Why, he'd make a great president. I take back all of the negative things I've said about him. I only hope he can find it in his heart to forgive me.
I know you're probably asking what about all that stuff in the Christie Crime Digest? Well, I see now that he's got a good explanation for all of those allegations. Every single one! I was just over wrought and hysterical, but I've now come to my senses. I realize that not one of the nearly 200 items posted there has any merit and it is just unfair to continue with this vendetta against a great American leader. In the spirit of bi-partisanship and for the good of the nation, I'm here to urge everyone on DU to support him. He really has what it takes to lead our country to prosperity.
Lying in his campaign ads, ethical lapses as U.S. Attorney, mishandling the state's pension funds, enriching donors to the RGA and his campaigns, Bridgegate, Sandy recovery, the Exxon-Mobil settlement-none of those things matter. In fact, I now believe he's doing a tremendous job under difficult circumstances and I'd like to ask everyone to leave him alone and let him do the difficult job of governing our state in peace. When he's done there, hopefully he can move on and work the same magic with the entire country. In fact, let me take this chance to tell all of his harping critics to SIT DOWN AND SHUT UP! (that felt good just typing it)
So, in conclusion, let me say that I officially no longer believe that he is a lying bully. I no longer believe that he is an unethical self-promoting, bloviating horse's ass. I no longer think that he and his administration have flaunted the letter and spirit of the law on numerous occasions. He hasn't turned his back on the citizens of NJ. He hasn't bungled Sandy recovery. He hasn't steered pension monies to his friends and political donors. He had every right to take gifts from his friends-hey what are friends for? He didn't threaten Dawn Zimmer. He didn't steer Sandy money to mayors who endorsed him. He was betrayed by his good friends on Bridgegate. How could I have been so wrong!
I think I'll be taking down both volumes of the Christie Crime Digest so I will do no further harm to his reputation. How many times can I say I'm sorry. I'll probably feel differently tomorrow.

(33,612 posts)You should add you don't think it's his fault that the private business he put in charge of the NJ Lottery cost the State over $50,000,000.
Until tomorrow that is.
