You sure as hell heard of it: The pizza-store in Indiana that said "We ain't gonna serve no gay weddings here."

The store received a barrage of ridicule and negative response and got into financial trouble. Meanwhile, the owners set up a GoFundMe-page and got $500k in donations from various conservative donors supporting their stance.

The store is closed. The owners and the money have gone into hiding...

It's not considered "gift" and should not be considered as a gift.

They are certainly not deductible contributions that the donors can deduct, but why wouldn't they be considered gifts to the recipient? Why would they be taxable?

Not defending anyone or anything, just a question about the tax code.

People have given a radio show host 750,000 dollars, not the pizza place so that's how stupid and hateful the donors are
There's some serious money to be made off their hate.
