Bakery threatened for refusing to put anti-gay message on cake

CASSELBERRY --
Police are stepping up patrols around a family owned bakery in Longwood after threats were made to the owner because she refused to put an anti-gay message on a cake.

Sharon Haller, the owner of Cut the Cake, said the threats and harassing calls starting coming after an anonymous caller criticized her decision not to put the message on a cake.

"I'm just afraid because of the type of calls that we were getting that someone is going to attack me in my home," Haller said.

Sharon Haller told News 13 on Friday that it all started after Feuerstein, a former TV evangelist, posted a video on social media targeting the Seminole County-based business. The recording includes Haller's voice even though she said she didn't consent to being recorded.

it's likely about 1/2 the country is going to hate you. I'm quite saddened to think the country that used to work together is now so divided. To me at least it seems religion is the core basis for much of the hatred, so much so that I've dropped all religion in my life. I just don't share the same values as many of today's faithful. Millions of people in the US are abandoning religion, IMO that's a wise decision.

And a lot of it does have to do with religion. Economically, there are things the left and right should be working for against the ownership class. They do a great job at keeping us fighting amongst ourselves while they fuck us all.

Seriously, if someone walks into a T-shirt shop asking for shirts that say "N-words must die", do they really believe that shop is obliged to honor that request?

Very disheartening, it makes me awfully sad too. I just don't get this obsession with other peoples' personal relationships and partnerships.

He had someone go to a Muslim bakery in Dearborn, Michigan and had them ask for a gay wedding cake.
When they refused to make it, he launched into a "liberals are hypocrites" tirade.
Never once did he mention that the people asking for the cake could sue and the bakery owner couldn't go to court and claim it was against his religion as a defense.
He smugly decided that he had won his point with no other input, of course, other than the guy he sent into the bakery.

Then today, he said that in one day, the US had crushed Christianity in this country and gave a nuclear bomb to Iran.

This is the kind of lies and propoganda these people push and their sheeple believe.

I'm beginning to wonder about this "Freedom to lie" thing. They have free speech in Britain and Canada too, but they also require a truth factor. What goes on in wingnut world is not only pukeable, but dangerous.

33 yr old, former TV preacher and now a career "social media evangelist".

I guess the Preacher is the anti-gay cake man if he posted the video & targeted the shop.
