(99,711 posts)The fine people of New York must either have forgotten about him or don't remember him fondly, including Republicans who give him a desultory six percentage points of their votes:

In the highly unlikely event it's just going to be Cruz v Pataki my money is on Cruz over the bland and uninspiring New York Republican party apparatchik , George Pataki.

No explanation of why George Pataki would have a chance in hell of winning the Republican nomination.
No explanation as to why someone who's been out of office for 10 years would have the remotest appeal to New York voters.

(20,176 posts)The first thought I had as I read this was those small handful of Chicken-Little posters who were convinced that Rudy Giuliani was an existential threat to Democrats' chances to win the Presidency in 2008 because he was going to turn the entire Northeast red. This was well past the point he was being ridiculed as Rudy "Noun, Verb, 9/11" Giuliani.
Tacky's only a threat in the same sense that Lake Michigan would be in danger of combustion if water had the same physical properties as gasoline. It ends with an inevitable conclusion having started from an impossible premise and never crossing into the possible at any point in the chain of reasoning.

(5,141 posts)which also happens to be about 10 miles from Hilarys home. I can assure you, even this close to his home base, there is NO WAY hed carry Westchester.
If he runs, he wouldnt even make it past the primary. No one likes him here, and there is no way an East Coast Republican will get the nod from the party (unless it happens to be super-crazy Paul Le Page). Aint gonna happen.

And wouldn't the things he'd have to say to win support in those quarters cost him support in NY, removing his main alleged advantage?
