They are are despicable.

"Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) told countries involved in negotiating a U.N.-brokered international climate change agreement that they should proceed with caution because of intransigent opposition to Obamas efforts to significantly scale back U.S. carbon emissions. "
If that isn't undermining a sitting President of the United States, undermining the very office of the United States, and generally attempting a Senatorial coup, I don't know what is.
If they aren't censured by the 53 members of the Senate that haven't lost their damn minds, we are in deep trouble as a Democracy. Same goes for the House. I didn't vote for Mitch McConnell, Tom Cotton or John Boehner for President of the United States. I didn't vote for any of those bastards, because I don't reside in their states.
Why do they think they were elected to govern the US all of the sudden? Did I miss Civics class that stated that rookie Senators, Speaker of the House, and Senate Majority Leader suddenly means that there can be no representation of the People of the United States by THEIR Congressional Representatives and the Executive Branch can no longer act like the ... Executive Branch!?
Since when did Mitch McConnell, Tom Cotton or Speaker Boehner become Governor of the United States?

(39,961 posts)My God, do they have to walk up and slap the President while he is at the podium delivering the SOTU address before Democrats speak up and say, "You need to be censured!"!?

(39,961 posts)it is called fascism. Money is the vote.
When you care not who is in power and only who controls the money, it isn't Democracy anymore, and it isn't being a libertarian to notice it.
It's common sense.

I'm not willing to lend that hand until they learn what drowning in their intransigence will cost them, both in supporters, donors and constituents that should rightfully be camped out with farm implements and light sources.

Griping about it on the net doesn't really seem to be very effective.

(39,961 posts)needs to be the one slapping down the Legislative branch. I think it is up to the Legislative branch to slap the shit out of the other members of the Legislative branch that are defying the Logan Act, acting as successionists, and it is up to the Legislative branch to quell the mutiny.
Or the Justice Department needs to do it for them. The Executive Branch is the party that is being breached here. So either Judiciary or Legislative MUST take them to task.
I'm trying to get a handle on what's possible. And believe me, I truly think some serious consequences are in order.

(39,961 posts)it is going to have to come from the Justice Department.
We have mechanisms to deal with folks in all three branches that engage in treason. These Senators are engaging in it.
The Executive and the Legislative branch can't argue between themselves, that's when the Justice arm of the Government needs to step in.
