Last time I checked, the "people of Chicago" chose Rahm by a sizable margin. brooklynite Apr 2015 #3
Wrong. We didn't. It was 55 to 45, and Garcia was a rather weak, last-minute candidate. kysrsoze Apr 2015 #16
Even if you don't like Rahm, I think it's still appropriate to congratulate him Cali_Democrat Apr 2015 #4

He is a horrible person, and in no way will I celebrate this. Not happening. This is a loss for the people of Chicago, and a warning sign to the rest of us.

Screw Rahm Emanuel.

I know a lot of people who despise Emanuel, and they're all Democrats. He represents the worst in politics; cronyism, big money donations, kickbacks to campaign donors, and utter disregard for unions, lower classes and minorities.

If a real candidate ran, Rahm would have lost. I really hope Scott Waguespack runs against him next time around, if Rahm isn't trying to run for President at that time. Rahm is afraid of Waguespack and bankrolled a minion (who got her ass handed to her) to run against Waguespack because he dared push back on Emanuel's authoritarian, one-percenter B.S.

Fuck Emanuel.

You probably would. That's fine. I would not. They are doing their best to hurt me. I am not okay with that, and I am not okay with Emanuel.

Again, congrats to Rahm and Garcia.

People worked their asses off to get rid of his corruption, and the Democratic Party dumped money and endorsements (Seriously, wtf Obama?) into the race to win. He was an incumbent, outspent his opponent 5 to 1, and barely won against a nobody. That isn't the people's choice, that was money's choice.

If he would have used his birth name instead of Chuy he might have won, especially with the election being so close to Easter.

but I think we did pretty good given the odds against us. Only 40% registered voters voted in a city of how many million, mostly unregistered voters. Given the probability that the bank establishment will mess up more lives in the future, I think things will catch up with them eventually. We'll be waiting, with the organization and numbers to make real changes.
