Just wondering if anyone caught Fox News on the South Carolina shooting....

I don't get it here in Canada, thankfully, but was watching Morning Joe, which I rarely watch.
Joe had a reporter from SC talking about the victims background, and how the cop had a baby on the way.
Seemed a little lopsided, and like they were setting the table for the victim blaming.

Did anyone wade into the Fox cesspool???

Germany has strict law (one of the few legal restrictions on "free speech&quot against anything remotely resembling Nazi propaganda, so Fox would have to self-censor like crazy to be allowed to operate in Germany.

I heard that the killer had two small kids and one on the way. So, he is hormonally functional. That's still not a justification for shooting a guy in the back eight times and then planting fake evidence to justify the shooting--as if "he took my taser" is justification for shooting a 50 year old guy in the back from a distance in the fist place.

a 50-year-old guy in the back.

The cop is a 25-years-old, physically conditioned and able-bodied man who could easily, with his academy training, have caught and subdued the much older man twice his age without shooting him.

What is it with these killer cops — are they scared, racist cowards or just too lazy to put forth effort to chase down a suspect?

And the cop did it in such a matter of fact, uncaring manner, like it was routine. I'm guessing lazy, didn't want to get his uniform dirty.

How anyone could even contemplate committing an act like that is beyond me. This guy didn't come out of the academy yesterday. Maybe he was in combat previously and had a snap reaction, but that is no excuse, not even a mitigating circumstance. If he is going to wear that uniform, carry that badge and a loaded gun, and have legal authority to use it, there is only ONE circumstance that justifies such an action. An unarmed fifty-year-old guy running away from you is NOT it. It does NOT justify pumping 8 bullets into his back. That is NOT the purpose for which cops are issued firearms.

The murder charge is appropriate. What is important is that cops nationwide see that using force in the line of duty has its limits, and that those limits were exceeded in this case. It should be made clear by every PD in the country to its officers that doing what this cop did leads to a murder charge. That is the first step on the long road to stopping the long string of American police murders that have made world headlines for way too long now.

He said the victim had "10 arrests" but A) An arrest is not a conviction, and B) If the reporter had learned that much he should also have been able to clarify what the arrests were for. They might very well have been Driving While Black stops.
