and if I read my moon phase chart right,
there should be a New Moon (dark moon)
on Apr 22.

One of the reasons why my wife and I moved to the woods in 2006 was so we could see the stars again. We have not been disappointed. Very little light pollution here,
though we are still at a relatively low altitude because we like to grow stuff.

When I was much younger, I'd seek out meteor showers (the standard ones). Last few times I've tried, the weather has not cooperated.
