Obama’s Nuclear Plan for a Secret ‘3rd Term’

The far-right is convinced the president is ready to impose martial law, suspend the Constitution and give himself a third term. No, really.

Alan Keyes is a crazy person. The former Republican presidential candidate really helped push the theory that Barack Obama was born in Kenya. He has warned that gay marriage will lead to the “destruction of civilizations.”

And now he wants to warn you about the president unleashing nuclear-bomb-related mayhem in order to impose martial law and secure a third term.

“What if the threat of nuclear devastation he helps to arm with this agreement (an America-hating Iran with nuclear bombs) is to be brandished, along with a related threat from ongoing terrorist uprisings on U.S. soil, to create the exigent circumstances needed to justify imposing martial law throughout the United States and a plausible excuse for demanding that Obama remain in office until the emergency passes?” Keyes wrote this week.

Batshit theories regarding Obama imposing martial law, getting nasty with nukes, and shredding the Constitution in order to achieve a third term have all been floating around for years.

We are headed in that direction with all of the fear mongering and the "national security state." The event will happen. But it won't be Obama. We are not quite there yet.

It's about lust for power, and they all have plenty of that. You cannot become president without it. It's about timing; about when a president can bring it off. It's about the degree of passiveness of Congress and the voters, and it's about the willingness of the military to support it. In all of those factors we are moving in the direction that will make it possible. As soon as it is, it will happen.

Every time they needed a boost in the polls they'd up the security level. I was at the airshow in Oshkosh, one day everything was nice and relaxed just like every other year then the next day National Guardsmen were "protecting" the control tower (the lawn around the control tower was always a popular place to lay out a blanket and watch the airshow) because Bush/Cheney had raised the security level to red. There was no reason whatsoever for doing this, other than they needed a boost in the polls and were playing the national security card.

In fact I'm surprised the NRA isn't secretly donating millions to Democratic presidential candidates. Having a Democrat in the White House is a godsend to the NRAs bank account.

refocused the perpetrator from Illuminati/OneWorldOrder/etc to Obama. If we're unlucky enough to have a Repub in WH in 2017, I wonder if they'll go back to the original 'bad guys' ... ?

about Bush "canceling the elections" and some of it was here.

I am actually quite impressed with every president since the dawn of nuclear power - they all stepped down. They have the power over the nuclear apparatus. A truly evil President could say let me stay or I'll drop the bomb. Which is interesting in that even Dubya wasn't that.

He can order a strike but it takes a lot of people to do it. There is no button that is pushed. Nobody would obey obviously illegal orders.

they have to be able to do it in an instant in case the Soviets sent any missiles. So it could only be so many people and what if they could be corrupted by said evil POTUS? Makes a good movie.

When I was in the Air Force and we ran nuclear war games the military always assumed POTUS would be taken out in a Russian first strike. The person running the show would then be the CIC of the Strategic Air Command who was the only other person who has the "nuclear football" with him 24/7.

I acknowledge I'm VERY cynical but I've seen people obey obviously illegal orders. Having said that, I sure hope you're right!
As far as our current president is concerned, I have complete faith he will gladly relinquish the reigns of power when asked to do so. I do have one brother that doesn't think so but he's crazy.
