Marijuana market takes a hit in California’s Emerald Triangle

ARCATA, Calif. – The pot market is crashing in California’s legendary Emerald Triangle.

The closure of hundreds of marijuana dispensaries across California and a federal crackdown on licensing programs for medical pot cultivation are leaving growers in the North Coast redwoods with harvested stashes many can’t sell.

Purportedly legal medical cultivators are fleeing to the black market. So much cheap weed is getting dumped in the college town of Arcata, some local dispensaries say business is down 75 percent.

Even the region’s itinerant and colorful bud trimmers are going broke.

And the president has never offered one word of explanation. Basically, he lied to us about what he meant to do.

I do hope the federal government can get its' shit together and end this wasteful, wicked, greed based insanity.

Thanks for the thread, Webster Green.

I guess the marijuana lobby doesn't have enough cash to give the President for his campaign coffers.

The candidates are more alike than you think. I can't wait to see what we're promised for the next term.

The moderates he needs to appeal to will buy MJ if they want/need, and so will the progressives who are disgusted with him on civil liberty issues. This is why Ron Paul made inroads with some of them. This is crazy. He could frame it the same way he did yesterday in Ohio with womens' issues (which was very powerful) - let people know the administration is working on the medicinal marijuana issue and how to safely legalize/regulate. This is our way forward on this issue, not sticking our heads in the stand.
