"I'm sure a Mormon corporate raider will be an improvement."

That was my sarcastic but deadpan line to a store manager I know a little today when I overheard him complaining about "Obummer" and "socialism" with a little more about Kenya and Nazis being socialists. It came out before I could help myself I wasn't really looking for a confrontation or to be religiously bigoted.

I might as well have been speaking Carthaginian.

It took five minutes explaining what I meant at about a fourth grade level, he didn't recognize Romney's name or know anything about him, didn't know what a corporate raider is, never heard of the Cayman Islands and so on..

Then I really threw him, I asked if he knew what USSR stood for, when he said no then I told him Union of Soviet Socialist *Republics*, really emphasized that last word..

I left him with a very puzzled expression.

Edited for grammer.

Pretty damn dumb is what you get when some portion of Americans rely on the media empires of a Korean cult leader and an Australian extortionist for the bulk of their 'news' and information.

She is a born again, Palin loving 'Obama is a Kenyan' birther, and before the 2008 election would babble about something a friend of hers said, always prefacing it with "He's a liberal, like you." which would be followed by something about the Amero, and that secret highway from Canada to Mexico, yada yada yada. I usually just tuned her out but finally one day I asked her if this friends was a Libertarian, and she said yes. So I told her, "Well, I'm a Liberal. You do understand that a Liberal and a Libertarian are NOT the same thing, right?"

She considers herself to be one of the most brilliant people on the face of the earth, so when she digested what I just said, she turned bright red and stormed away. We have barely spoken, since. Which is wonderful.

I made the mistake of mentioning the Southern Strategy to some Southern neighbors, recently. They asked what that is. Had to kind of skim over the issue as "Some of Nixon's BS". We have got to pump some serious money back in to education in all corners of this country & rob the kochroaches of their foot-soldiers.

a history of racism.

After I posted links about Nixon's Southern Strategy and the subsequent rise of Republicans in the South, he claimed he showed my post to a group of his friends who were all 'historians' and they were all laughing.

I was laughing my ass off at the idea of a group of GOP 'historians' claiming there was no such thing as a Southern Strategy. Guess they graduated from the same schools that pumped out all those GOP 'environmental scientists'.

until Obama, the country could keep it's racism under the radar...the President changed all that.
