NY Post Writer: Brooklyn Nets Should Be Called 'New York N-----s' Because Of Jay-Z Ownership

Phil Mushnick, NY Post Writer: Brooklyn Nets Should Be Called 'New York N-----s' Because Of Jay-Z Ownership

A New York sportswriter is in hot water after writing that the Brooklyn Nets should change their name to the "New York N------s" because they are co-owned by Jay-Z.

Phil Mushnick, who writes for the New York Post, has apparently been a long-time critic of the rapper's role in the franchise. In a Friday column, he trashed Jay-Z's choices for the team's new uniforms:

As long as the Nets are allowing Jay-Z to call their marketing shots -- what a shock that he chose black and white as the new team colors to stress, as the Nets explained, their new "urban" home -- why not have him apply the full Jay-Z treatment?

Why the Brooklyn Nets when they can be the New York N------s? The cheerleaders could be the Brooklyn B----hes or Hoes. Team logo? A 9 mm with hollow-tip shell casings strewn beneath. Wanna be Jay-Z hip? Then go all the way!

Looks like he got away with it. Just a matter of time before Rush finally uses the word he has longed to say for so long, and he is likely to get away with it, too. Sickening.

Well, it's spring. Under these circumstances, it's time for Granny's tonic. I think I need a double right about now.

Not the Brooklyn Community. If he wants to talk about cultural slavery, let's talk abou the gun culture in this country that just can't help itself but to try to overturn and undermine meaningful gun control in this country. This racist shot himself in the foot with that remark.

UPDATE: Mushnick responded to the furore surrounding his column later on Friday. Writing to sports site Bob's Blitz, he said that there had been "obvious, wishful and ignorant mischaracterizations" of his words.

"Jay-Z profits from the worst and most sustaining self-enslaving stereotypes of black-American culture and I'M the racist?" he continued. "Some truths, I guess, are just hard to read, let alone think about."

This clown can go f--k himself.

The Post has been toilet paper for years.
I only see commuters who are top afraid to actually live in NYC reading it. And the paper plays up to their fears 24/7. Bleeech.

I LOATHED IT THEN and I LOATHE IT NOW. Jay-z had better man up and drop that word. And the other guy? He needs fired. Yes, guy, you are a racist. Jay-Z? You're a dumb ass for helping to make a slave master word common place again. Fuck. That. Word.

Бруклин сети as in Brooklyn Nets in Russian - the majority owner is the billionaire Prokhorov.

ran the cartoon of Obama as a chimpanzee shot by cops. Nobody with any decency would pay for that rag and anybody advertising in it should be boycotted.
