Heard on eleven o'clock news: Biden endorses same sex marriage (Kicked from Sunday)

I really don't know what to make of this.

I think Biden does, indeed, favor it, so in that respect, I believe it is sincere.

But he went on to say he doesn't know if Obama will make a push for it in a second term. That tag line is what sets off my radar.

Was this statement, quiet and from the back-up guy, a signal that the administration *would* push for it? Or was it a head fake? A trial balloon? A wet finger in the wind?

As I said, I believe Biden supports it. I'm less sure of the reason he said this now, at the start of the campaign. Biden has a rep as a bit of a motor mouth and loose cannon, but since he's been veep, he has been the model of team discipline. Which is why I am so suspicious of this.
