Well, that's one way to get the racists out of your small-town government: elect a black mayor!

Officers, city officials resign after new mayor elected

PARMA, MO (KFVS) -

Voters in Parma, Missouri voted in their first African-American female mayor.

Tyrus Byrd will be sworn in as mayor on Tuesday evening, April 14 at the Parma Community Building.

According to Mayor Randall Ramsey, five out of six police officers resigned this week, effectively immediately.

Mayor Ramsey said the city's attorney, the clerk and the waste water treatment plant supervisor also turned in resignation letters citing "safety concerns."

with African-Americans, rather than disgruntled, racist red-necks. Let's hope the courts do their job in a professional manner.

The mayor elect ran on a "clean up" platform. The old guard held power for 30+years.

They might not want to be around when the sunlight begins it's disinfection work.

There's more to this stink than just racism. She campaigned to clean up the town, and once the old mayor was out, all those rats wasted no time in jumping ship. No notice or explanation, no severance pay, no unemployment, no benefits, they all just up and ran... right after they wiped their computers.

That smells like political corruption. The mayor was in power for nearly 40 years, plenty of time for him and his "good ol' boys" to get into money laundering, drug dealing... something that linked the whole lot of 'em. Seems like the mayor's first order of business is investigating what that bunch is hiding. Good luck to her and her town.
