Fox, NBC Also Say Verizon's New Bundles Violate Contracts

Fox and Comcast-owned NBC Universal have joined ESPN in claiming that Verizon's new marginally-more-flexible cable bundles violate the broadcasters' existing contracts. ESPN was the first to complain earlier this week that Verizon's new channel options -- which provide a core selection of channels then offers an assortment of $10 channel packs -- isn't allowed under current broadcasting agreements.

In this case it is about unbundling sports, but it might also evolve into unbundling of other things, such as fox news, etc.

From the folks who brought us deregulation, these government created monopolies have wreaked expensive costs for pay TV. There is a reason more people are "cutting the cord". You have hundreds of channels, and watch at most 10. Thank goodness for Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, and other outlets that actually give people a little more flexibility

If the broadcast is in 1080i HD, then the method to get the signal to you doesn't matter. I use antenna because the broadcast stations broadcast in 1080i.

I know for a fact what I am telling you...

I know that for a fact. I actually get the channels from the antenna, which are in the maximum broadcast resolution as well. I use a Sharp Aquos LED TV and also pump the signal to a TV tuner card. With 2 AMD R9 290X graphics cards in Crossfire, I see no difference on my very up to date gaming Monitor.
