Ms. Clinton?
I am asking this question because if you all do not vote for her, you know who will get elected, the worst of the teabaggers.

(149,678 posts)I'm sure someone else will run against her.
Governor Martin O'Malley looks like he will run.
akbacchus_BC
(5,704 posts)to say if they want to run! I like Mrs. Clinton but I do not think she will win. That is just my opinion from a Canadian point of view. Ideally, I would have loved for her to win but then Obama won, which was great. I just thought that with her experience being the new President and Obama as her VP, she would coach him and Democrats would be in control for the next 8 years. I shudder to think that a Republican can take the elections!

(7,906 posts)Seriously though,
I would imagine
Joe Biden
Martin O'Malley
Jim Webb
Lincoln Chaffee
and perhaps Bernie Sanders
Doesn't matter though. Hillary Clinton will beat any republican quite easily.

(5,704 posts)I do not know the others you have listed.
I keep wondering what happened to Howard Dean and Bill Richardson.
I guess John Edwards screwed up too much, he is not a possibility! To me, he was wonderful but man, did he mess up? Shit sticks to Democrats but Republicans, not so much! The media is not progressive!
akbacchus_BC
(5,704 posts)a teabagger. But am not impressed by her! That is my personal opinion!
Politicians lie and I always thought that they should protect the working class rather than corporations! Hilary is a corporation person, they fund her and she will protect them. Where do the working class and the poor come in her equation?
KMOD
(7,906 posts)Hillary Clinton is not a corporation person, she has worked most of her entire life to help people.

(5,704 posts)As far as am concerned, a Democrat in the White House is better than any rethug! If she gets elected, I will be happy. Plus the supreme court is another issue. Thomas has to go, do you think she could get rid of him or is he there for life?

(5,704 posts)You did not say anything about the Supreme Court if a rethug got elected!

(7,906 posts)thinking that HRC has the power to remove a Supreme Court Justice.
Would I like him removed? Yes
Does HRC or anyone have the power to do so? No
So yeah, I was being funny, since apparently you are trying to be funny as well.

(5,704 posts)Am Canadian but I wish she wins. However, with the millions of people in the US, how come two surnames run for Presidency?
Where are Democrats that are more likeable and did not vote for the invasion of Iraq? People do not have short memories!
Rex
(65,616 posts)Throw in a dash of disaster capitalism and you never need worry about voters.
Let me tell you, until either party decides to do something about gerrymandering in America, nothing will change as far as elections go.
You have to start at the root cause, lobbyist and gerrymandering must be addressed first.
akbacchus_BC
(5,704 posts)But who is going to bell the cat?
Frankly, there has to be electoral reforms where candidates do not have to advocate for money to run election campaigns. It should be a process where the candidate go from state to state to campaign the electorate. It should not be about money. Suppose you had a good candidate but he or she is not goodlooking like Kuchinch, should he be written off because he cannot raise enough money or should he get elected because he is progressive and will do what he promised?

(51,122 posts)Once we have a nominee, not voting for them or working against them will be the same as voting for a teabagger President.
akbacchus_BC
(5,704 posts)for the President! It seems to me that some people just cannot wait to get the current President out of the White House! I may be too sensitive but I feel that some Americans cannot wait to get the Obamas out of the White House. Sorry if I made a mistake in understanding!
Got to say that I know and feel that President Obama was for everyone, but sadly, he was not respected! He tried his best and he thought he could work with the republicans but they sure did not like him!

(5,704 posts)announced, the primaries have begun, unless you tell me otherwise. Your system of elections are different from ours.
They have to start raising money for ads and fox news is going to fixate on Mrs. Clinton and on the other hand, the other news outlets are not Democrat friendly.

(65,616 posts)She has been the target of the M$M since she became a political figure. One very smart woman and I think she has the GOP scared shitless of her.

(5,704 posts)I just do not get it that you all fought England for independence and doing the same dynasty. Bush, Clinton. No other person in the US who is qualified to run as President?
At least President Obama was a breath of fresh air, now it is another Clinton? Goodness, anybody else but a Clinton! Oh, that Jindal asshole needs to crawl back into the space he came from.
Rex
(65,616 posts)True, 2000 and 2004 are the closest we've come to having a king...but even he gave up the seat of power (which many of us thought would never happen).
HRC is not a dynasty, if her daughter runs then maybe right? Bush elder and Bush jr (both Jeb and Dubya) do make a dynasty.
Yet they left office peacefully and Obama took over without any problems.
We also do have some contenders for the Democratic primary seat coming up...they just haven't announced yet.
Wait another 6 months and see where we are imo.
akbacchus_BC
(5,704 posts)running for the Presidency, is that not a dynasty? Let me know what you think!
Rex
(65,616 posts)is out voted by the non-governing elite. What you really have to do, it get at the core of corruption and that is the non-governing elite. In many ways, they are barons and dukes that rule over political regions.
America's plutocrats don't really want or need a ruler, that would hurt sales.
akbacchus_BC
(5,704 posts)I really cannot argue with you on the subject of American politics. I think I stay informed but by no means, well informed. Thanks for responding to me, I really appreciate it.

(65,616 posts)system than we do overall. I enjoy discussing these issues! Just give it half a year and try and ignore all the rehotric you see here on DU! It will come from all sides and have you believing stuff that is far from the truth.
DU can sometimes reflect the real world, but mostly not when it comes to a primary and everyone is betting on their favorite pony.
Have a great night akbacchus_BC!

(62,325 posts)And it appears, Chafee is planning to announce in May also.
O'Malley sounds great on the issues right now. The more people are hearing about him, the more excited they seem to be.
I am not fully on board yet, but definitely interested.
It's a long, long way to the nomination.
I am sure we will have lots of Dems to choose from.
akbacchus_BC
(5,704 posts)announced her intention to run last weekend? I thought it was premature!
I just hope that President Obama can achieve all his promises before leaving the White House. One thing I really want him to do is to ensure that Americans get good health care (single payer) and if he has the opportunity (executive order), close Guantamo Bay down. He has achieved a lot but these two would solidify his Presidency as the best ever.
Jamastiene
(38,187 posts)He declared before she did. Of course, I still don't know if his run is a parody or what. I have to say, though, I agree with him on one thing for sure; I don't want Jeb Bush all up in my house with disease.
akbacchus_BC
(5,704 posts)thinks he has a chance at the Presidency! What is wrong with Americans? 1/2 of 440 million people cannot see reality!
Well just look at the Duggars, every fricking thing they do is for the Lord, do people really think like that? The Lord this and the Lord that control every moment of their lives, is that for real? You need to think and form your own opinions!
Jamastiene
(38,187 posts)Don't forget, there lots of us who do not think like they do and think they are freaking ridiculous. And yes, there are lots of people who think like that. It is sickening.

(88 posts)will win if fast track and the TPP go through. Too much of the base will sit out or look for that third party candidate that is not a Corporate Wall Street Third Way Messenger (personally I am so OVER the Clinton and Bushes)
This latest Trade Agreement would spell doom for sovereignty and the middle class. SCOTUS nominations and many other popular issues will pale and fall by the wayside..........that's how serious our future is at stake now.
