Texas Cop Smashes Woman’s Face Into Pavement, Knocks Her Unconscious

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2015/04/23/round-rock-texas-cop-viviana-keith/

A bystander captured cell phone video of Round Rock, Texas, police officer Ben Johnson smashing a woman’s face into the pavement so hard that she was immediately knocked unconscious. Witnesses to the incident told KVUE that they thought the woman, Viviana Keith, was dead....

Keith’s six-year-old daughter was also present at the time she was knocked unconscious. Viviana Garcia told KVUE that “the little girl was screaming, ‘Mommy, mommy.” Garcia said she and other witnesses just rushed over to comfort the child, not knowing if her mother was dead or alive.

If the actions of officer Ben Johnson aren’t enough to make your blood boil, upon viewing the video of the incident, Round Rock police chief Allen Banks defended the actions of the officer. He said he sees nothing wrong in the video, and claims that this officer’s conduct is professional and appropriate....

Not a single day goes by when we don’t read about a new incident of police abuse, brutality or misconduct. From the death of Michael Brown to the death of Freddie Gray, across the country minorities are being killed by police at alarming rate. Women are brutalized and violated by the people sworn to protect and uphold the law. The mentally impaired and mentally ill are routinely victimized by a system that is clearly out of control. These are not the actions of ‘good cops’ doing their jobs. These are the actions of deranged psychopaths, who hide behind a badge, when they should be behind bars.

lately, once they are dead or incapacitated, no one looks terribly concerned. But yet they kill because they "fear for their lives". Now it's the public who has the fear. He body slammed her onto the pavement. BIG difference.

My dad was the Chief of Police in my hometown, and he would have fired that officer on the spot. He probably would also have arrested him for assualt and battery of a high and aggrevated nature.

I'm a retired R.N.(female) and could have restrained that woman without harming her. I did it many times with drunks and mentally ill patients.

Her being drunk and mouthy doesn't give him the right to do bodily harm. He could have killed her or caused permanent brain damage.

The fact that you don't see anything wrong with this speaks volumns.

your response to this video can accurately be identified as justifying ridiculously unnecessary violence and lying to obscure and minimize the damage, which are sadistic behaviors.

Here is how police in civilized countries handle drunks:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="

On edit: the Texas cop, a man, threw a WOMAN down so hard that he knocked her out, she could have DIED from hitting her head on the pavement or suffered traumatic brain injury - thus ending up disabled for life. You are excusing criminal violence by a public servant against a drunk woman with a kid by her side. There is no excuse.

Look at how the Danes and Swedes deal with drunk disruptive people. They remain polite, they address them correctly, and they handle the situation so that nobody gets hurt. These videos have been posted several times so I won't re-post. Only in the USA are cops so vicious and violent, because American cops know that nothing can stop them.

Except the government, which needs to step up and address this issue.
