Don`t rile up the base.

Just don`t. No telling what these people will do. And, they constantly quote Bernie Sanders, a Democratic Socialist! I don`t even think that`s an American thing to be, a Democratic Socialist. Isn`t that like Norway or something? Don`t tell the base, but there is nothing wrong with our country`s Third Way Bootstrap Program. Every single person in the world has bootstraps, so why can`t they pick themselves up by them? I mean, what are we supposed to do? Pack a lunch for every gradeschooler? Not charge the going interest rate for kids who have to borrow money to go to college? What kind of business model would that be? What are we supposed to do? Give everyone a trophy? George W. Bush got that Yale Acceptance Trophy, but he deserved it. His last name is Bush and America still takes pride in important names.

The base does not get along well with our New Systems Managers. These are highly paid experts who know what a candidate should wear, what a candidate should believe in, even what state fairs they should attend. The Managers know we can`t just go haywire and start screaming about crooked bankers....where will we get the money we need to get into 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Ever thought of that?

The base doesn`t understand war. Sure, it`s a dirty business, but how else are we going to bring democracy and freedom to the world? These drone attacks will eventually kill the right people and help Americans accept that "Collateral Damage" is part of the real world. We simply apologize, then move on to the next terrorist-seeking strike. The base needs to understand. You can`t have your cake and eat it too. Drones are expensive and so are hired mercenaries. That doesn`t leave a whole lot for cleaning up after the strip mining or for finding housing for children wandering the streets after dark.

I`m starting to think the base really does believe in unicorns. How did they get so messed up that they`re willing to stand along the side of the road with signs like BLACK LIVES MATTER or LOVE IS LOVE or PEACE or NO TPP or NOH8? That`s why I say we shouldn`t rile them up. There`s no telling what these people could do if they got together. I`d much rather see us all nod in unison. It gives the appearance that we`re all on the same page.

If America would do what makes sense and Bernie would do, it would make me happy.

Democratic Socialism is the answer.

A leftist party does have a "base" but it is a wider base not so easily defined as the narrow and narrow-minded base of the GOP, guns and God and abortion.
